James Flaherty

Jim's 41 years of community activities include currently serving on the Board of the Catholic Foundation and Westerville Area Resource Ministry, being active in the local Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise for 31 years, including a year as District Governor in 2007; Past Board Member of both the Ohio to Erie Trail Fund and the Delaware County Friends of the Trail to complete the Ohio to Erie trail from Cleveland to Cincinnati.  Highlighted past involvement includes 1996 Board Chair of Leadership Worthington, 2000 Board Chair of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce, and 2002 President of the Central Ohio Planned Giving Council.

Jim is married to Barbara and they reside in Genoa Township.  Jim has two married children both living in the area and 9 young grandchildren.   His hobbies include running, biking and fishing. He has completed the World Marathon Majors and one Ironman but now after hip replacement, fishing is looking pretty good.

Born and raised in Rochester, N.Y., He is a graduate of Miami University (B.S., 1980) and the University of Dayton (M.B.A., 1983; J.D., 1984). Jim was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1984, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Tax Court in 1985.  Jim is a member of the Columbus, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations.
